To commemorate 200 years since the Peterloo massacre and the beginning of the workers rights movement, Manchester hosted a large series of events throughout 2019.
Rising Up! was a theatre production combining dramatic narrative and song. Telling the story of two women linked across time as they struggle to rise up and find their voice.
The artwork was created to reflect both time periods of the city’s story. Together with capturing some of that revolutionary anger!
