Our friends at Broughton Street’s best bar, ‘The Street’, asked us to create some signage for the side of their building and some window vinyl advertising their new menu.
The premises is on a busy street corner and the side facing onto Broughton Street needed a strong, brand identity to help lead in customers. We also needed to display that they were a ‘Bar, Café & Nightclub’ which was originally to be a tagline to the logo. We decided this important copy needed to be more prominent than this would allow and due to the large footfall past the corner of the building, large vertical letters would be much more effective.
The Street’s original ‘street sign’ style logo was re-designed to give a more exciting, vibrant image, adding DJ equipment and sprayed elements to suit the venue’s events and street art gallery. The signage was created in hard wearing vinyl, which could easily deal with the curvature of the wall, and give the impression of being sprayed onto the wall.
They also needed to promote their new menu through window vinyl. The original simple list soon expanded to a colourful, welcoming design filling the entire window panel. The most important information shouting out to the passer by, with the detail there for those who’d like to take a closer look. We added design additional design elements giving it an exciting feel to suit their vibrant and varied menu.
It all worked out really well and the client is overjoyed with it’s reception.
The signage was produced and fitted by Edinburgh’s Black Box Signs (entertheblackbox.co.uk), who did a great job as usual.
