Film & Technology (magazine pages)

Whilst working as designers and creative directors for the international music magazine Clash, we worked on thousands pages over our 5 year span. Clash was aimed at a more stylish design lead readership and we always tried to layout each page in a vibrant, exciting way that captured the feel of the artist they portrayed.

Here are a selection of our designs for the film review and technology sections of the magazine. Our front covers, feature pages, fashion and regular sections can be found elsewhere on this site (there’s way too much to show on one page).

These sections used the same fonts and the same column layout throughout, they represented a constant visual identity of the section, and weren’t as suited to design embellishments as other parts of the publication. We laid these pages out to be easily readable and understandable, highlighting stronger reviews with larger imagery and pull-out quotes, cycling background tones to differentiate different pieces and arranging it all to create a smooth flow through the section.
