ABOUT THE PROJECT

Branding
Roo’s Leap
Logo, signage & print

Roo’s Leap is a large Australian themed family restaurant based in Montrose and Aviemore. After a large refit thanks to our friends at KBA+D we were brought in initially to create a new logo brand for the business, which was later translated to everything from both exterior and internal signage, to business cards and menu’s, to vinyl for their branded delivery van and even roller blinds. We were also asked to create additional interior feature illustrations, where we drew aborignal characters and designed a large typographical artwork consisting of well known Australian sayings.

We aimed to create a modern brand that although keeping the antipodean themes didn’t fall into the usual tacky Aussie styles. The logo branding type was hand-drawn and was supplemented with the iconized kangaroo illustration, with the whole thing colored to capture the warmth of the country whilst retaining the professional feel of the business.

Dotted aboriginal-esque patterns were used to lift the backgrounds and these were later translated to the roller blinds that adorned each window.

Check out our aboriginal characters and animal illustrations on their own page via the link below.
