The People’s Story
Exhibition signage
Edinburgh’s treasured museum The People’s Story invited us to create the signage for their new exhibition ‘Edinburgh and the Commonwealth Games’. An exhibition bringing together memorabilia, footage and photographs to tell the story of the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games.
All the imagery was b/w so we really needed to inject some color into the signage, whilst keeping mostly light backgrounds as the gallery is quite dark. A big chunky header font and a large introductions help lead folk into engaging with the more detailed content. The strong photographic imagery was used to complement the neat copy, together with coloured pull out quotes to help draw in the reader.
The exhibition included multiple display panels, exhibit labels, building signage and pop-up banners.
