ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Dog
Red Dog Music
A5 magazine
After creating the branding for Edinburgh’s Red Dog Music a local music equipment retailer, we were invited to design their new quarterly magazine ‘The Dog’. The free magazine was distributed in-store, in relevant local outlets and also inserted into national music magazines.
Each issue contained many interviews with artists, both established such as The Prodigy, Faithless & DJ Yoda and also new breaking bands. In addition to these, it featured regular music equipment reviews, recording guides for musicians and interviews with instrument manufacturers.
The design followed Red Dog’s friendly attitude and we made sure we always had fun with the designs we created, anything went and we mixed different styles and techniques throughout each issue, holding it all together with the red/black/beige color scheme for regular sections.
Each issue also had popular launch parties in the city with great band line-ups and dj’s.
You can find our designs for the covers and more individual features elsewhere on this site or via the links below.
