English Folk Expo, is an industry showcase presenting the finest English folk, roots and acoustic music. The annual showcase is held in Bury in Lancashire, in the heart of England just a short drive from Manchester Airport, the weekend before Womex.
After previously designing the logo branding and programme for the English Folk Expo’s first two years, we were invited to create a new design for their third showcase in 2015.
Using a photo of one of the artists performing in the expo, we cut the character out of the original scene and used our dot-screen effect to recolor the image, later adding the crowds’ hands and background bushes to represent the exciting live mood of the event.
This fresh imagery was used throughout the project and translated to their print publicity, pop-up banners and website.
